Apple Health and Health Connect
Connect your health data to ByStep, see what it reads and change the permissions.
ByStep reads workouts from Apple Health on iPhone and from Health Connect on Android. It never writes to them. Your watch or fitness app must write to Apple Health or Health Connect first.
Connect
Open Settings › Connections › Apple Health, Health Connect and other apps. Tap Connect. Turn on every category and tap Allow. On Android, also allow Access past data. Without it, days older than 30 days stay empty.
What ByStep reads
- Workouts, active energy, steps and distance.
- Heart rate, resting heart rate and VO2 max.
- Weight.
Change permissions
Tap the health row and choose Check access. You can also change access in the Health app on iPhone (your picture, Apps, ByStep) or in Health Connect on Android (App permissions, ByStep).
A category that is off can lower the points of a workout. iOS does not tell ByStep when you deny access, so an empty result can mean no permission.
Tap Sync now in the same menu to load new data. A workout can reach ByStep 45 minutes or more after it ends.
